In what ways can you live a healthy lifestyle on a limited budget?
As a college student I face the ultimate struggle of wanting to eat healthy but I am stuck living on a very limited budget. It is so much easier and much more affordable to simply go through the drive-through at a fast food restaurant. However, that hurts me and my health in the long run. After some research I found some good tips on how to eat healthy and not feel like you are spending a fortune. WebMD gave a list of several foods that are healthy and only cost about $2. Some of the foods that stuck out to me were brown rice, 100% whole wheat bread, frozen vegetables, canned refried beans, and jarred marinara sauce. The majority of these foods can be stored for long periods of time and they are basic foods that can easily be added to. I think the most important thing to do is make a grocery list and sticking to it while you are in the store. This allows you to plan your meals for the week and helps you to have meals with similar ingredients which helps save on some extra money as well.
