Picking a diet

J Snyder
It seems today that most people are looking for a diet to solve one of their health needs, whether this is losing weight, gaining muscle, lowering blood pressure or just increasing quality of life. There are so many studies out there that say this diet will do this and this diet will do this. So how do you know what diet will work? Even if that diet has a solid foundation with medical background, how do you know that this diet will work for you individually?

In doing a research, I found that there is no miracle diets. There is no diet that is going to solve everyone’s problems and definitely not overnight. There are some diets that are much better than others but no diet plan has yet trumped them all. The first thing to decide when picking a diet is to decide your goals. After that there really is no way to determine which diet will work for who. In fact many diets don’t work for many people. Through all my research through many different sources the best way to determine a diet that will work for you is to talk to a doctor of registered dietitian. There are many factors that will determine a successful diet, genetics, past history, personal goals and many other factors. These factors can make it very hard to find a mainstream diet that will work for you.
