What is the effective process of making a change and commiting to it?
The very first step in making a change is wanting to make that change. When you want something, you work hard for it, you're more motivated to get what you want or where you want. One effective process that can be used to make change is the Self-Determination Continuum. The Self-Determination Continuum is also known as the motivation continuum. This theory is a theory of motivation that aims to explain where an individual stands when they are trying to reach a goal. Attached is the chart to see where you stand. As you work toward that goal or change, it's easy to see where you stand and when that change is accomplished, you'll feel good about it and want to stick with it. Again the most important part is to want it yourself, not for anyone else.
