Once flu season is in full swing you start to notice everyone around you either coughing, sneezing or just looking miserable. It's hard not to get sick no matter how hard you try. You may avoid the flu but you somehow end up with an annoying cold. Do you ever wander if you're taking the right precautions? The CDC recommends a 3 step action plan to avoid getting the flu or sick. The first step is to get a flu shot. The flu shot prevents you from getting the most common strands of that season. The second step which I think is the most important is to take preventative action to stop the spread. Examples of this would be to constantly wash your hands, avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth so a virus cannot enter your body. The third step is to take medicine to prevent the spread of any illness you might have. Staying healthy is very important, make sure eat well and exercise often during flu season. It keeps your body healthy and your immune system strong and ready to fight a virus that sneaks in your body. Trying to stay well in flu season can be a battle but just take care of yourself and you should make it out with only a cold or two.
