Many people have been effected by pancreatic cancer, whether it be a family member, friend, or even the victim. It is a hard cancer to deal with because the survival rate is usually very slim and it's quick onset can really be discouraging to people. So what is that cause of pancreatic cancer? Well there is no truly known answer, however research has found that there are many important factors that lead to the cause of pancreatic cancer. Such as cigarette smoking, genetics, obesity, chronic pancreatitis, age, as well as a few others. Being that there are so many factors to look at there can really be no way to find the true cause of the cancer other than knowing that it is a mutation in the DNA. Due to the fact that this is such a complicated disease people start to believe that there may not be a way to prevent oneself from getting it. However that is untrue. You can take certain precautions to prevent pancreatic cancer, such as quit smoking, maintain a healthy weight, and exercise regularly. Does this mean that if you do all of those things that you may not be susceptible to getting pancreatic cancer? No, not at all however it does decrease the chances immensely. So make sure to be screened regularly so if you do happen to get it you can catch it early.
